The
Practitioner
Is
Present.
You reserve my time.
What happens during the reservation may vary.
The reservation itself does not.
For the duration you have booked, I am present—seated in my office or in your home. The time is held exclusively for you.
You may join me. You may not.
The time is yours; I will keep it.
The reservation is the service.
[ why this exists ]
Some wanted acupuncture.
Some wanted conversation.
Some wanted both.
Some arrived with questions.
Others never arrived at all.
The only constant was the reservation itself.
Holding Time reflects this reality. Rather than charging for a service, I charge for the reservation itself.
[ possible uses ]
Reservations are purchased in 30-minute increments.
The minimum reservation is 30 minutes. There is no maximum.
A reservation may be used for acupuncture, cupping, conversation, silence, presence, absence, or any combination thereof.
For those who would like acupuncture, Emma suggests reserving accordingly:
Consultation or conversation — 30 minutes
One-sided acupuncture — 75 minutes
Acupuncture with cupping — 90 minutes
Two-sided acupuncture — 1 hour 45 minutes
Two-sided acupuncture with cupping — 2 hours
These recommendations are offered for convenience. The reservation itself remains the service.
To reserve time and not arrive is a complete use of it.
Unused time is still time used.
Additional time may be added if available.
[ payment ]
Payment is made in advance and is not returned.
You are commissioning a block of my time and attention. Once booked, it belongs to that work.
For this reason, reservations cannot be cancelled.
Reservations may be moved with at least seven days' notice.
Within seven days, the reservation remains as scheduled whether or not you choose to attend.
When you reserve my time, I arrange my life around keeping it.
There is no waiting list.
There are no exceptions.
[ on absence ]
Many services are built on attendance.
Holding Time is built on reservation.
If you do not come, nothing has gone wrong. A reservation requires nothing further.
No apology is expected.
[ house calls and concierge services ]
For $600 an hour, I will travel to the agreed location and remain present there.
If the door is closed, I will sit on the step and keep the time
You are not purchasing a treatment.
You are not purchasing an outcome.
The reservation is the service.
